Covid-19 Guest Information

The safety of all our guests and our team is very important to us. Last year, we set-up our Covid-19 cleaning and social distancing measures to give you extra peace of mind during your stay with us, in line with government guidance.

Throughout 2020, we have refined and improved our procedures and had some excellent feedback.

Here's what some of our guests said:

“Covid 19 regulations meant that the stay was not quite as usual but Jude and Karl went out of their way to make things as normal as possible whilst respecting the safety measures”

“Good detail in regard to Covid 19 safety including individual flasks of milk per room thus preventing any cross infection”

“Hosts take virus seriously without creating unnecessary problems”

“Fairlight is very clean”

“Pleased that covid 19 safety was adhered to”

“Everything covered due to COVID-19”

“The room was spotlessly clean”

Please note that we are not changing any of our policies listed below after 19th July and will still be asking guests to wear masks whilst in the shared areas of the house - i.e. hallways/stairs and the breakfast room until you are sitting at your table.

This is to protect ourselves (this is our home as well as a business premises), our staff and also any guests who remain vulnerable for whatever underlying health reason.

As and when Covid cases start falling again, we may start easing some of our policies but it will be gradual.

Check-In

  • We have moved to a contactless payment system and will no longer accept cash payments or physical use of cards. We will message you with a secure Stripe payment link prior to arrival so you can pay by card or Apple Pay/Android Pay or by entering your card details.  If you have not paid before arrival, we will ask you to use the same link to pay once here.
  • Keys will be sanitised beforehand and left ready in rooms.
  • On arrival, you will be greeted at 2m distance and shown to your rooms.

Breakfast

Depending on the number of guests, we are now doing fixed sittings for breakfast. We will chat with you on your check-in to let you know if this is the case for your stay and find out your time preference.  Time slots are available on a first reserved basis - if you really need a specific time, please message us before arrival.

We have four tables in use, all which provide a full 1 metre distance with seating either back to back or side to side.

For weekdays, the time slots will be every 15 minutes from 7:30 to 9:00

For weekends, the time slots will be every 15 minutes from 8:00 to 9:30

Alternatively, we can offer in-room breakfast service on trays delivered to your door, should you feel anxious about eating in the breakfast room with other guests. Please discuss options with us on your arrival if you do wish to do this.

  • When you arrive in the breakfast room, you will find tables unlaid on arrival and we will set them for you once you are seated.
  • We still offer a full English breakfast but other options have been reduced, to ensure we can manage the change in process.
  • All cereals will be served in single portions packs.
  • All condiments etc will served in sachets

All door handles and light switches in communal areas (entry ways, landings, breakfast room) will be sanitised during daily cleaning and then again in the evening after normal check-in hours.

Laundry

All bedding and towels will be laundered at 71C to provide full thermal disinfection.

Staff Safety

  • Staff will be provided with suitable masks, gloves and tabards and will use toilet and sink facilities separate from guest areas.

Communal Areas

You must wear a mask when in communal areas (entrances, corridors and breakfast room).  Once you have sat at your table for breakfast, you can remove your mask but please remember to put it back on if you get up to go back to your room.

  • Hand sanitiser stations will be available in at all entry points.
  • No local information leaflets will be used – we will provide you with an emailed document with website links to local attractions.

How you can help

  • Please wear your mask when required and maintain social distancing requirements at all times.
  • Please put rubbish in the room bins provided or for bulky items please put directly into the large council bins in the car park.
  • Please ensure any used tissues are disposed of in the toilet and not left on bedside tables or tucked in pillowcases etc.

Like many other businesses, we are adapting to the ‘new normal’ as best we can. Please be patient if there any issues or problems that arise during this extraordinary time. Your feedback on how we can improve on any aspect of your stay will always be appreciated.
