Access Statement For Fairlight Lodge
Introduction
Fairlight Lodge is a 7 bedroom Guest House in King's Lynn which offer 4 ground floor en-suite rooms. Car parking is offered off-road on a level gravelled area. Access to the house for rooms within the main building is via a level path with one 3" step: rooms in the annex are via the car-park on a level gravelled path of 3ft width and then onto a tiled path of 2ft width. The accommodation is suitable for persons of good and moderate mobility. Guests with hearing or visual impairment are catered for.
Pre-Arrival
Booking is by e-mail, telephone or fax, with details given on our website www.fairlightlodge.co.uk which has the facility to enlarge the font. Details are available by post in standard or large font on request. • Fairlight Lodge is within walking distance via the park (level paths or short taxi ride from both bus & train stations. There is a mobility shop located in the town centre, and mobility items can be hired from the Red Cross in Austin Fields (close to the town)
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
On arrival by car, we offer off-road parking for 6 vehicles in our gravelled,level car park which is lit by security lighting. A space can be reserved in advance for guests with mobility problems. • Assistance with parking and transfer of luggage and help with accessing rooms is offered.
Main Entrance & Reception
Entrance to the main building is via the front door, which is a standard hinged construction, with level accessible from the car park or from the public footpath with a 5" step down, into a porch area 4ft square There is a small step into the building of 3", and a further step down into reception of 6". The corridor to reception is 2ft wide at its narrowest point and the reception area is via a 2 ft wide door into an area 4ft wide at its narrowest. Alternative access is provided at the rear of the building, accessed from the car park via a gravelled path of 3ft with. This gives level access into the main building and reception areas. Assistance in accessing all areas of Fairlight Lodge is offered. • All public areas, corridors etc are lit, and seating is available in reception if required when registering. The owners are on-hand from 07.00 am - 18.00 and via a mobile or a contact bell near reception outside the times.

All floors are carpeted and the only public area is the dining room. A payphone is available in reception in a well lit area, and assistance in its use is provided on request.

Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Lounges, Take Away & Cafe
The dining room is on the ground floor, with one step down of 6" from the front of the building, but level from 3 of the ground floor en-suite rooms. The dining room is lit by 3 sets of wall lights. Seating is provided in the dining room on wooden chairs (cushions available on request) around freestanding tables. • There is a varied breakfast menu to cater for most dietary requirements, provided by waiter service (assistance is offered for guests with visual impairment)

Fairlight Lodge has a very attractive garden for use by the guests, and is accessed from the rear of the building via a step up of 8". Garden seats and table and chairs are provided for seating and partaking of cream teas in the summer. Assistance in accessing the garden areas is provided on request.

Bedrooms
All bedrooms are suitable for guests with full or partial mobility with a maximum door width of 30", but not for wheelchairs. Smoke detectors are fitted with audible alarm only. • TV with remote control is provided, and bedrooms are lit via central/wall lights and bedside lamps. Four of the seven bedrooms are located on the ground floor, the three upstairs rooms are not suitable for guests with limited mobility. Access to the upstairs rooms is via a staircase of 13 stairs and a further 2 stairs for the 2 rooms at the front of the house, and a 4" step up and down again into the room at the rear of the house. • Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in each bedroom with a standard kettle with lead.
Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]
All the en-suite bedrooms have a wc, washbasin and shower. The showers are all electrically operated with glass doors and are a 9" step-up from floor level. • The washing area is tiled and separated from the bedroom by a door max width 30"
